Who/What is MidMod Decor?

Hi we're MidMod Decor. We buy and sell original and lightly restored mid-century modern furniture and home goods. We are an operation of two – George and Barbara, husband and wife – and we're always here to answer your questions and address any issues you might have. We stand by our products because we've lived with them ourselves. We truly love these pieces as much as you do and we're excited to share our collection with you. We're always on the lookout for new pieces, so if there is something in particular you're looking for, we'd be happy to help you hunt for it. Need some help decorating? We can do that too.

Barbara – the daughter of a renowned ceramic artist – is a graphic designer. She is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Art (Now University of the Arts) which at the time had its aesthetic roots tightly woven with the Bauhaus. She began her career working for some of the top design firms in New York City in the 1970's and has been honing her problem solving skills and aesthetic sensibilities for the past 40+ years.

George is an architect. He is a graduate of Temple University's Tyler School of Art where he studied under the pupils of the famed Philadelphia architect Louis Kahn. George practiced for forty years and taught drawing, space planning and design at the Art Institute of Philadelphia as a Professor of Interior Design for twenty-five years; for the last twenty of those years he was Thesis Master. George and Barbara carefully examine each piece that MidMod Decor buys and sells for quality of craftsmanship, provenance, and aesthetic/historical significance.
